ONE WORD REVIEW: GRIPPING
Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), a black policeman, infiltrating the KKK in 1970 is the premise of this film. So, of course, the movie is humorous, while exploring ideas around race and neo-Nazis. However, Ron can only infiltrate the group over the phone, so white Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), joins the 'organisation' to investigate in the flesh. Based on an insane true story, the screenplay, acting, and direction are superb. Filmmaker Spike Lee offers some terrifyingly realistic scenes and demonstrates the need for BlackLivesMatter movements in society.
