ONE WORD REVIEW: COOL
The story of Queen, and their journey to fame and success, mainly focussing on the life of Freddie Mercury. It is understandable why the film took so long to make, as it is extremely positive towards the living members of Queen. Meanwhile, Mercury, who is not alive to defend himself, is presented as difficult, as opposed to an industry-changing performer. Furthermore, although Rami Malek is brilliant, it seems that his Academy Award is mainly due to his likeliness to Mercury, rather than his acting talent. However, it must be said that Bryan Singer directs Queen’s performances, in particular, incredibly, and the plot is exciting, alongside the fabulous music.
