ONE WORD REVIEW: MISTAKE

How could it go so wrong? There are so many things wrong with this film, it is difficult to narrow it down to a one hundred word review. The outfits are shocking, ruin the entire production, and Rebel Wilson’s is highly inappropriate - the men seem to be missing a key element of themselves within the tight, furry bodysuits as well?! The main character, Victoria (Francesca Hayward), sounds like a nine-year-old in a musical version of a nativity, no artistic talent at all - yes, she is a prima ballerina. Still, surely there was a dancer that could sing who the casting directors could have chosen? Luckily for Taylor Swift, audiences are too fixated on her embarrassing attempt at a British accent to notice her butcher the song ’Macavity’. Then, there are the cats’ sizes. The proportions are bizarre; the cats go from being as small as mice on a railway track to as large as a bin within the same shot. The film just looks like an awful animation, with a lack of a plot which was never going to suit a Hollywood feature film. Finally, the acting. The unknown actors are better than the known ones, yet, the involvement in this film was a bad career move for everyone. The songs are of course brilliant, the dancing scenes are average, but overall, the film is boring. It’s not even worth laughing at.
