ONE WORD REVIEW: STRONG
Without a doubt, this is one of the best performances of Tom Hiddleston’s career. Not only his incredible charisma on stage is shown, but also his talented use of voice and physical strength. On the small Donmar stage, audiences are transported to a semi-modern Rome, where the actresses wear modern-style earrings, while the men are still sword-fighting. Each of the actors, regardless of their fame, have a powerful use of language, enabling audiences to truly see the beauty of Shakespeare’s language and understand its meaning. Some of the moments are jaw-droppingly good, but at times, the concept of the plot feels never-ending. A good production, but not necessarily great.
