ONE WORD REVIEW: SHOCKING
Terribly sad and horrific yet evokes laughter at some inappropriate moments. It is basically a one-man show, with Stephen Rae showcasing amazing acting talent. He is a married man with a daughter and a granddaughter in a midlife crisis. We meet him at a therapist’s office, where we discover he is a figure to be laughed at in the production, rather than a character to laugh with. Lightly combining tragedy and comedy shows David Ireland’s talent as a writer. The Royal Court’s production is available on their YouTube channel.
