ONE WORD REVIEW: SIMILAR
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s famous TV show ‘Fleabag’ originated from a one-woman show performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016. After the success of the show, The National Theatre held this exact performance last year, with terribly expensive ticket prices. Yet, to raise funds for the NHS and theatre, the recorded performance is available on the Soho Theatre website, and Amazon Prime, for a minimum £4 donation. Her performance is basically the first season of the TV show, with the same stories from Fleabag’s life, and same characters. However, the live performance contains more raunchy elements that were clearly not politically correct enough to be shown on the BBC. Hilariously funny, but, considering the first season is free on BBC iPlayer, and the show is very similar, it is not original enough to be pay for. Considering the lovely causes the money raised is going towards, it is a lovely thing to watch, but perhaps not as a family!
