2/5
ONE WORD REVIEW: SUBTLE
The first half of the film is brilliant, and unfortunately, the second half does not equal it. Beautifully subtle, inviting audiences into a couple’s relationship with each other and their children, following an avalanche, where the father ran away from his family, supposedly in order to help himself. Due to its subtlety, the film is rather slow, before just getting quite weird. Suddenly, the husband finds himself in a nightclub with a load of shouting, shirtless men, for no apparent reason, and the film’s final scene does not conclude in any way, and is not even abstract or thought-provoking, just disappointing.
