ONE WORD REVIEW: MONUMENTAL

Hamilton has been a sellout musical hit in every theatre since January 2015, and has made those involved in its original production huge successes. So mind-blowingly original, using rap to tell the story of ‘forgotten’ founding father, Alexander Hamilton, and thus giving him the recognition he deserves. Lin Manuel-Miranda and his cast’s acting as well as their wonderful voices get to truly be acknowledged in this film version, thanks to various different camera angles. It is a shame that the buzz that a live audience brings can never be replicated, but this certainly does not detract from the power of the performance itself. Hamilton is a genuinely spectacular landmark in the musical world, which has brought and will continue to bring (courtesy of Disney Plus) theatre-lovers and theatre-haters together in appreciation of what is an incredible production.
