Jane Eyre (National Theatre)

ONE WORD REVIEW: MIND-BLOWING

A cleverly devised performance of Charlotte Brontë’s classic with a young cast, who multi-role, and seamlessly move between various locations and periods of time. The use of swift costume changes and different accents to represent various stages in maturity assists with this. Jane Eyre, played by Hannah Bristow, is on stage for almost the whole three-hour production, and yet her acting remains incredible throughout. The Bristol Old Vic and the National’s production exceeds all expectations, is innovative, and highly impressive. An engaging production showcasing great acting and young actors.
