ONE WORD REVIEW: MASTERPIECE
‘Jojo Rabbit’ is a hilarious presentation of Nazi fanaticism towards the end of World War II, through the perspective of the loveable young Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis), a member of the Nazi Youth. He has to rethink his beliefs as he discovers a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) living in the walls of his house. To overcome this, imaginary Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi) acts as a therapist. Taika Waititi’s adapted screenplay and direction are superb, and his presentation of each of the characters as loveable, and the Nazi system as completely ridiculous is iconic. The film is deserving of any and every kind of reward, being terribly original, funny, and respectful of the book on which it is based.
