ONE WORD REVIEW: OLDER
Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo know a lot about cinema, that much is clear. Not only are their reviews of each film insightful, and their points logical, but they are also compared to previous pieces of cinema, offering more rounded opinions. The only frustrating part of the podcast, is that it takes about half an hour of conversation about anything but cinema, to finally get the reviews – which is of course, pretty much the only reason to listen to the podcast. The pair’s relationship is enjoyable to listen to, as it is clear that they are close, share opinions (the majority of the time), and are able to bounce off of each other very easily. Their debates are interesting to listen to, and their years of experience discussing films is apparent. Would recommend more to an older audience than a younger one.
