ONE WORD REVIEW: SAD

After watching this film, one cannot describe Noah Baumbach as anything less than a genius. From the screenplay to the cinematography, the direction to the acting, ‘Marriage Story’ is simply perfection. Nicole (Scarlett Johansson) and Charlie (Adam Driver) are divorcing, after working in the same theatre company, and having a son together. Offering a terribly sad, somewhat warning on the terror that divorce is, the emotions presented are incredibly raw, and extraordinarily realistic. Laura Dern plays Nicole’s lawyer, and frankly steals the show with her performance as a strong, independent woman stereotype, advising Nicole as she navigates her new life, without her former husband. A cinematic masterpiece, which contradicts all expectations of a film which is only available on Netflix.
