ONE WORD REVIEW: COMPULSIVE
A documentary about Taylor Swift’s life doesn’t seem like an enjoyable watch for the majority of people. However, director Lana Wilson’s sympathetic portrayal of Swift allows audiences to see a different side to her than that often shown in the media. Swift’s honesty in terms of the state of her mental health makes this documentary a beneficial watch for young audiences, as she discusses issues that other stars often shy away from. It is difficult to come out of this documentary not liking Swift, due to the documentary’s lack of objectivity at times. It is clear that the creators really warmed to Swift, which leads to some details and riveting dramas that show Swift in a non-flattering light not being delved into as much as they should have been.
