ONE WORD REVIEW: ENTERTAINING
Such an enjoyable family watch. The National Theatre’s audience enhanced James Corden’s brilliant performance, a performance which he describes as “lifechanging”. Corden’s performance can only evoke laughter, and the surprise performance by Christine Patterson will have audiences rolling around on the floor. Corden plays a ‘man’ who takes on two ‘guvnors,’ and tries hard to work for and continue to impress both, despite his difficulties in remembering things. His audience interaction is hilarious, and Oliver Chris’s performance as a terribly posh, boarding school ‘twat’ is superb. It is difficult not to enjoy a performance such as this, with such a stellar cast, and a fantastic audience on the night. The production is available on the National Theatre at Home website.
