ONE WORD REVIEW: TOUCHING

A young photographer is hired to give insight into the lives of police officers who deal with paedophiles and child abuse. Very powerful, with a variety of terrifying stories presented by police officers, victims and offenders, the film explores intense themes in a very matter-of-fact way, which increases the tension. Furthermore, audiences are shown how these stories affect the personal lives of the police officers. Director Maïwenn succeeds in a difficult film to present, however, the insight into the private lives of the police, and the concept of the seemingly mute photographer, just doesn’t work that well. This is a shame, considering how much of an impact the rest of the movie has on audiences.
