ONE WORD REVIEW: UPLIFTING
This star-studded film, featuring performances from the three female leads, Octavia Spencer, Taraji P Henson and Janelle Monáe, wows the audience and is extraordinarily uplifting. Based loosely on the story of black female mathematicians working at NASA, the film makes viewers question why the #OscarsSoWhite movement should still exist in 2020 when films such as these have existed since 2016. Not only does it offer an insight to the historical space battle between the US and the Soviets, and the ever-present racism in the 1960s, but also has light moments of humour and a touching true story of love. Overall, a brilliant family film to lighten the mood during this period of isolation and uncertainty.
