ONE WORD REVIEW: ENJOYABLE
The story of how Reginal Dwight became Elton John, is heart-warming, with a feel-good soundtrack of Elton’s hits, and a fabulous performance by Taron Egerton. Audiences sympathise with Elton as he navigates his new world, alongside the kind Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell) and the not-so-kind John Reid (Richard Madden). Dexter Fletcher directs a really enjoyable family film, which also shows the terror as fame overtakes his life. It is better than Bohemian Rhapsody, but for some reason did not get as much critical acclaim. Perhaps this is because the film offers a more objective perspective on the life of a normal person turned famous singer, as opposed to a more glamorised version.
