ONE WORD REVIEW: BIZARRE
Set in Australia over two time periods, as Mike Kingley (Geoffrey Rush) explains to his granddaughter (Morgana Davies), his younger life as a ‘Storm boy’ (Finn Little) with a pet pelican, Mr Percival. At times, for obvious reasons, the concept is unbelievable. However, with some lovely acting, excluding that of the moody granddaughter who overacts like nothing cinema has seen before, and some beautiful Australian scenery, the film does not disappoint. Adapted from a beloved Australian classic book, it is unsurprising that the film is loved by a nation. With some famous Aussie faces, including Trevor Jamieson and Jai Courtney, the movie is extremely uplifting, exploring familial relationships and different lifestyles in an innovative way.
