ONE WORD REVIEW: JOVIAL
Tom Hanks wrote and directed this fun movie, about a young band trying to make it in the 90s music industry. With a great song, which became a hit due to this film, ‘That Thing You Do’, and other catchy songs, as well as a likeable cast, it is difficult not to leave this film without smiling. The cinematography is not fantastic, and some elements of the script are not the most impressive, for example the simple narrative structure. However, the film does offer an insight into the challenges that musicians face in their attempt to make it in the industry, and also offer audiences a cute love story as the cherry on top.
