ONE WORD REVIEW: INFORMATIVE
A critical financial crisis involving the housing market in the US is simply not explained well within this film, unfortunately. With actors turning to the camera at various points to narrate, and an overhead narration, this is disappointing. There are even sexist moments where the narrator ‘hands over’ to Margot Robbie in a bath, and Selena Gomez in a tight dress, to explain the crisis in further detail. One would hope that this is a critique at the stereotype of misogynistic bankers. Still, it is just rather strange in the midst of a severe crisis that affected thousands in the US. There are some comic moments, and the information provided does shed light on the power of Wall Street. Still, it is quite complicated, and not exactly a topic that is easily simplified.
