The Truman Show (1998)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ONE WORD REVIEW: ENGROSSING

Imagine having a 24 hour TV Show about your life, that the world has been watching since your birth, but you know nothing about it. This terribly thought-provoking idea is what Truman’s life is. Jim Carrey’s performance as Truman is faultless, evoking so much sympathy for his character’s experience. The screenplay itself is really moving, and funny in parts, showing how captivated audiences are with Truman’s life. The cruelty of his situation is never discussed (living in a fake world that he believes to be real), showing the selfishness of humanity, as those in control of the show gain more and more fame and money, while Truman is being used. Powerful in every way, and deserving of every award it received. A must-see.
