ONE WORD REVIEW: ELECTRIFYING
Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman shine in this new mini series, playing husband and wife in high society New York. In short, when a mother at their son’s school is found murdered, their lives are changed forever. In six hours, the audience is completely captivated, and desperate to know the answer to this question: ‘Did he do it?’ The acting all round is superb; even the child actors’ work is so powerful. Furthermore, the use of dark lighting to show the despair felt by those within this world truly communicates the incredible loss already experienced, and the loss to come. The premise of the story is fabulous, the only downsides being that some elements of the trial and events leading to the trial seem slightly unrealistic, and occasionally Nicole Kidman’s American accent falters. The star of the show is Hugh Grant, whose acting is truly inspirational, and shows his growth from young rom-com actor, to Hollywood legend. Brilliant.
