ONE WORD REVIEW: INDIVIDUAL

Uncut Gems is a very different film, and praise must go to the Safdie brothers for their individuality. That said, from the opening scene, it is clear that the music is louder than the dialogue at times, which starts off as interesting, but I found myself needing to use subtitles about half way through the film as a consequence, which is a shame. Sandler is fantastic; as he portrays a slightly unlikeable and certainly unorthodox jeweller in a ‘Hugh-stakes’ bet. The use of lighting and the actual cinematography itself is awe-worthy, and the plot has audiences questioning the ending throughout. Another awesome Netflix movie that may hit the spot for some, but is not really for everyone.
